monet und camille doncieux hatten kurz vor dem krieg geheiratet ( 28 Juni 1870 ) . und , nach ihrem ausflug nach london und zaandam , sie waren nach argenteuil gezogen , im dezember 1871 . in dieser zeit malte monet verschiedene werke des modernen lebens . Camille wurde krank in 1876 . Sie hatten einen zweiten sohn , Michel , auf 17 März 1878 , ( Jean wurde in geboren 1867 ) . Dieses zweite kind schwächte ihre bereits schwindende gesundheit . Im selben jahr , monet zog in das dorf vétheuil . Auf 5 September 1879 , camille monet starb im alter von an tuberkulose thirty-two ; Monet malte sie auf ihr sterbebett .
